How do you check your immigration court date?
Call the Automated Case Information Hotline at 1-800-898-7180, or use the Automated Case Information portal online; both are run by the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) and both need your A-Number.
The phone line is free, works in English and Spanish, and is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
What does the hotline tell you?
- Your next hearing date, time and location.
- Case processing information.
- The immigration judge's decision and its date, if there is one.
- For an appeal at the Board of Immigration Appeals: appeal and brief due dates and the decision.
- Filing information.
How do you enter your A-Number?
- On the phone, enter the nine digits without the letter A.
- If your A-Number has 8 digits, enter a zero first, then the 8 digits.
- The online portal asks for your A-Number and your nationality.
What if your case doesn't show up?
EOIR says the portal does not show every case or every detail of a case, only the primary case. For bond hearing information, contact your local immigration court. If what you see does not match your papers, or you have questions about what a notice means for you, ask a licensed attorney or a DOJ-accredited representative; legal aid organizations in this directory can help.
How do you avoid phone scams about your case?
EOIR has warned that scammers fake its phone numbers so the call looks official, and pretend to be court employees to get personal information. EOIR says its staff do not call people from its main line about case matters. Do not give personal information to an unexpected caller: hang up and call the hotline yourself.
